Masterclass: Understanding Pre-Teen Boys

This 2 hour practical and interactive masterclass has been developed using some material from Positive Parenting Publications and Programmes and research in other areas. This masterclass aims to explore the key areas of parenting a pre-teen boy and how and why boys are different. Resources used promote good adult education practice with a clear purpose and range of learning methods etc. It also promotes positive parenting and the parent/child relationship.

 

Learning Outcomes and Masterclass Objectives:

 

  • To understand the developmental stages of a pre-teen boy (physical and emotional)

  • How and why boys are different

  • To understand how feelings link to behaviour

  • How to boost confidence and develop responsibility and self-esteem

  • How to handle challenging behaviour
